Trouble with dvd copies

I am not sure where to put this thread so I apologize in advance. download series of tv shows to watch at my leisure when I am home. The last few I down loaded I recorded to dvd-r and they will not play and say something about exceeding area limitations and two others roll like the old tv sets used to do. I use dvdflick to record them. Would anyone have any idea on what happened to these? The one I have recorded for a couple of years now work beautiful. I would appreciate any suggestions on what I can do. Thank you much.

Possibly trying to fit a bit much on the DVD's. Try putting one or two less shows on them and see if it make any difference.
Also, sometimes the Laser head becomes out of alignment and no longer picks up/writes the track properly. In which case, new DVD player time. Maybe this might help. I dunno.
