Trouble with McAfee in Windows 8

I found out today that McAfee may not work with Windows 8 programs. I installed McAfee on my laptop because it stated it will work with Windows 8. It slowed down my laptop on start up, slowed down my internet, and will not completely uninstall. I have 486 files that I can not uninstall.

I have McAfee total protection paid on windows 8 and it's working fine with it. I haven't experienced any slow down problems.
