trouble with windows media player.

After my computer has been in sleep mode, my window's media player does not work properly. It actually just freezes up completely the first time I try to use it after sleep mode. I have to manually restart the computer. When I go back to use media player it works fine until the next time it is in sleep mode. I have installed it and uninstalled it with no change. Any ideas? Would appreciate your help.

Don't know the answer but I do know that more information would be helpful. Post back with all the details of your computer that you can gather and also the version of Windows Media Player that you're using.

Also, when did this start and had anything been changed just before that?

Every detail you can add will help narrow down the problem.

 

If your media play is running IE; active playing or not, it happens on may computers

If the Media player doesn't work even if it wasn't active before sleep mode that isn't normal.

I personally suggest putting your computer on hibernate it is exactly the same as turning your computer off but it takes a image of your settings, is more stabe that sleep mode in my opinion eg: i can hibernate my computer whilst playing Battlefield 2 and the game runs fine after. It also boots back up about as quick as sleep mode does. Plus is saves electricity.

For example if i put my computer on hibernate now it would come back on with MSN, majorgeeks and everything else that is running now.
