Trouble with WMP

As I wrote a few days ago, I am having problems with WMP. Was finally able to download version 10 and get it to work, however I now keep receiving a message I have an upgrade to download but when I do I receive the message "unable to download." Any advise, please.

have you gone to Microsoft website it self? I'd download Windows Media Player 11 and see if that works.

Right now, I am having trouble with window updates and downloads. I am trying to stop internet explorer 7 from installing to my computer. WMP 11 automatically downloaded to my computer and I was unable to play any of the downloaded music on my cd players. For some reason everything gets out or wack when I upgrade or download. I don't have any knowledge in what I need to do afterwards.
Do you have any advice?

hmm...try and see if Dial-a-fix will help
