I did a search and couldn't see my problem explained... I'm sorry if this has been covered a few times and if so, could you point me to the right post...

Right,,, about a week ago i lost my sound card, i tried to restore to a previous date and it wiped my hardrive clean....
I have tried to recover, using the disks that i have and it just sends me to a DOS page with the message at the bottom ' invalid patition table'.. I have tried all three options for recovering and it just sends me back to the Dos page... I can get into my bios page and have put everything on defult, but it didn't work... I hope one of you may be able to help me as i am stuck....
    Cheers.

sorry man, I passed out early last night.
Your drives partition table got corrupted. No easy way to repair it that I'm aware of. Maybe someone else knows. The only 2 instances that I've experienced with this, I ended up reformatting.

yeah, FDISK or KILLDISK, however KILLDISK is a low-level format utility, I'd go with Fdisk first

    fdisk is on your bootfloppy.

just boot up and type in fdisk
you'll get a question about whether or not you want to enable support for large disks, which you'll want, so answer Yes.
then you get a menu and from that menu you just delete the primary partition and then make a new primary partition, then reboot and format and your trouble should be over :)
