At the moment l am running Win 7 Ultimate which is bang up to date and squeeky clean.
Both my browsers Firefox and now, Internet Explorer, are also bang up to date.
So, l have accounts with two leading UK banking sites, namely Site A and Site B.
Everything used to work fine under Firefox, but then problems re logging in started to happen.
So, set up Internet Explorer with Site A and Site B added as favorites, and all went fine...until recently.
Site A still works fine, but Site B will not let me log in ..... "an error has occurred"?
Ran Ultrasearch and deleted everything listed with references to Site B.
Fired up IE, re-entered Site B's url address, but the same thing happens.
Went around to a friends house who is using Win 10 and IE, input the url details for Site B, and lo and behold,
l logged in with no problems whatsoever!
Oh and yes, l've also tried Chrome and Opera which gives ME the same problem.
l'm now running out of ideas. Why does his Win 10 and IE let me in, but not my Win 7 and IE?
    Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
    ANY ideas gratefully appreciated.
    Regards

Just another thought following on from the above.
Thought l'd wipe out IE altogether and reinstall it. Ha, easier said than done!
Went into programs and features and there was no IE listed.
Went into Revo Uninstaller. Again, no IE listed.
Did a search of the C drive, and there are two program files folders. One for 32bit and one for 64bit.
Each of these folders contain sub-folders for Internet Explorer.
Now if l use UltraSearch (add on program) with a keyword of "internet" there are tons of files with name of windows ie.
Now l'm getting a little out of depth here, not wanting to delete anything l shouldn't.
Any ideas as to how to get of IE?
    Regards

Thanks Wile E Coyote, but not really what l was looking for as l've already got IE 11 installed in both my 32bit and 64 bit program folders.
Last night, l did in fact turn windows features off and have tried that link you gave me already.
It fails to install as it says l have the latest version.
What l really want to do is to wipe both IE's out and then start over.
IE just seems to be a pain in the backside with no manoeuvrability whatsoever.
I want to try to use a previous version of IE at the very least, to install it in just my 64bit folder, just to see if this solves my original problem.
It seems that the only way round this is to a complete system reinstall and start all over again (yikes).
    Regards

It isn't possible to uninstall IE, it's an integral component of Win 7

Go back to Programs and Features.
In the left sidebar, click View installed updates and you'll see Windows Internet Explorer 11.
    https://www.ghacks.net/2013/09/20/uninstall-internet-explorer-11/
Scroll down to Uninstall Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7.

    Note:
Do not try to remove Internet Explorer with an uninstaller, or manually deleting files.
    Windows will be damaged.

In all honesty it should not be removed. There is stuff that requires internet explorer to run properly.I don't understand why the need you have to remove it.There is stuff connected to internet explorer.Like windows updates is one. From what i remember if you remove internet explorer windows updates will most likely not work properly. And there are internet settings connected to the internet explorer.

There are up sides and down sides to removing some thing that is vital.I keep mine and rarely use it.Keep in mind if you go about removing items from windows it self. There are issues that will come about later on.

All so have you run any type of virus or malware scan.If you have not this could be causing an issue.

I would run the malware remove guide below.

Maybe there is some thing blocking your site.

Sorry for not replying sooner, but would like to thank you all for being so helpful. At least l have learnt a bit more about IE.
Anyway, uninstalled IE 11 which kicked me back to IE 8. That didn't work for the site l wanted, so reinstalled IE 11. At least by doing this it was in an officially controlled way using MS themselves.
I have run my usual trio

What happened there then? It just replied without me even finishing?
Anyway carrying on, have run my AV 360 Total Security, Malwarebytes, and SuperAntiSpyware. No errors shown.
By the way WILE, you say that "maybe there is some thing blocking your site".
Blimmin' eck. Are there any ways to check this if it's embedded in my Computer?
The only other thing l can think of is my ISP, but why would they allow me access tp all of my other banking sites?
    It's a mystery.

    Thanks Wile and Eldon,
Ran all the programs you suggested Wile, but they didn't find any problems.
Really like this Windows repair program Eldon, it seemed to fix quite a few problems, but hasn't solved the overall problem.
By the way, if l use a friends computer that has the same version of IE, it works fine!
He uses Windows 10 as opposed to my Windows 7, and he also uses a different ISP.

    Next course of actions:-
l have printed off all my advanced settings in IE and will compare them to his. Maybe something in his has been "ticked" and in mine hasn't.
Will see if my ISP is doing anything untoward, which l very much doubt, as all other banking sites are fine.
Will then contact the site concerned and get them to allocate me a new account to see if that works.
Failing all of this, maybe a reinstall of Windows 7 is required and fresh start all over again, but that will be another post!
Will be away for a while sorting all of this out but l'll post here again if l am getting anywhere, or NOT.
    Regards

You're on the right track. :)

Check with your ISP and the website concerned.

If Tweaking.com - Windows Repair didn't fix the possible issues, I doubt re-installing Windows 7 will.
But, if you think it might help, come back and I will post instructions how to repair Windows 7. Your programs and personal files will be intact.

Also keep in mind, IE11 in Win7 and Win10 is not identical.
And you can thank Microsoft...

If I'm reading you right you are having this same logging in problem in IE, Firefox, Chrome and Opera. If that's the case the problem is with your computer. Could it possibly be the keyboard? Also, after a very few failed login attempts bank sites will block you.

    Try this...

In windows start menu type command prompt or CMD for short. Then run it as admin by right clicking on the icon and going to admin options. Then while in command prompt little black box.

Type these below in order.Or copy and past them.

ipconfig /flushdns (This option clears your dns.)

ipconfig /release (This will kick your computers connection offline.)

ipconfig /renew (This will turn it back on.)

Your dns could be blocked. From to many try's.

Reset your modem and your wireless if you have one by pressing the little button on the back or bottom. There is a reset button hold it for 10 seconds.

Sorry i have not responded.I have been dealing with a virus infection in my computer. And finally kicked it.Took me a couple of days to remove it.
