I'm having troubles with splitting the connection from the wall to the Modem and TV. If I bypass the splitter and connect directly from the wall to the modem it works just fine. If I try to use a splitter the TV works fine still, but the modem doesn't get connectivity for some reason. I've tried 2 different splitters and i've also tried different cables to be sure that one isn't bad but still no luck. Coming here hoping for some tips on troubleshooting more.

The signal is not strong enough to be split, call your cable company and get them to fix it.

My fix was a splitter at the pole, I assume the pole has fiber and a splitter there is so much closer to the change from fiber to cable it makes a difference.

I had an electrician come in. He split the cable so that one goes only to the modem (plate at the wall) and the others go to televisions.
