Troubles with a website..?

This hd is clean and prime. W98se, old desktop, 20-gig hd, 600mhtz, 128 R.

I visited in a website for about ten-minutes, and when I clicked all the programs Off, to see just the desktop, all my custom placed icons were now in different places. Does this mean that someone at that website was snooping and messing in my computers hd?

And.. is there a way, in W98se, to config all the that stuff a hacker-snoop would bring-up, so they would just get various meaningful-pix of my choosing?

And when I set my computer name, description, and user name.. does that come-up in the visited website's snooper data about my PC?
