Troubles with F-Prot AVS and Photoplus8..??

I'm running W98se, 600mghtz, 6gig, Compaq desktop antique...

The trial of F-Prot found two bugs that all the other AVS's didn't, and it scanned a floppy faster than the other AVS's.. and this F-Prot AVS seems to be the "catzass", so I purchased it.. but after the install I can't get into the "on demand scanner"..? A continuous popup reads that it must be installed with setup... After four downloads, and uninstalls, and installs, I still can't get the user options working..? I can only hope its "realtime" is working...

The only other problem I am experiencing with this computer is with the photoplus8 photo-editor.. it crashes as it's loading my pix file.. crashes after loading 16 of my 400 pix... I don't know if this photo-editor problem is related to the problem with F-Prot..? It might be the result of a bully hack attack..? or just with my perpetual unbridled screwing in the registry..?

I read good reviews on F-Prot software... I don't know why it doesn't work in my machine..?

Anybody got a clue why I can't get F-Prot and PhotoPlus to work?.. I've uninstalled and reinstalled PP8 three times, and still the same problem..? Yesterday someone got in, and knocked my colors down to 16 colors... that probably has something to do with it..? So I did a major cleanup, and ran Eraser, one pass... Everything is running ok, but those two problems still exist...

 

Update on this horrid glitch...

I just discovered that CM DiskCleaner kills Seamonkey.. making it so that I must run a search and destroy with regedit, for Seamonkey and Mozilla, before reinstalling Seamonkey, for Seamonkey to work again... It's likely that CM DiskCleaner also made PhotoPlus8 non-functional.. and F-Prot as well... You folks might do a test with CM DiskCleaner, to find these problems too, and devise a solution... And maybe with all the popular registry cleaners...

From the looks of it I might have to do a format-C to repair the damage.. but I'm doing my best to try to repair the OS, because a reload takes over 20-hours...

I tried to contact CM DiskCleaner through their website.. everytime I clicked any one of their email-contacts, IE opened 42 windows on the desktop... I've seen viruses do that... I think it was snowhite-virus that did that...
