My computer (which i usually leave on most of the time) was turned off when i arrived home from work today. It turns on the fans spin, the lights work, but i get no video output, and no sound. The video card has always worked flawlessly, no reason it should have failed, i think there must be another issue at hand. Not sure where to begin since i can't get video or audio feedback.

    any ideas where to start?

UPDATE: I swapped out video cards and HDD's, It was not the cause, so im thinking it must be the CPU or MOBO? my monitor works hooked up to my laptop so ive ruled that out as well.

Take out all the RAM and see if you get a long beep.
That will tell you the MOBO isn't completely gone.
Maybe try just one RAM module at a time--see if any difference.

Do you have a bootable CD like a Windows installation CD--any different activity on trying to boot from that?

That's a negative on the Bootable media, no luck, i can't even get video, im going to take the RAM cards out and try to see if i can get some beeps though, thanks for that suggestion
