Using V11 of True Image (bootable CD) on a VIA KLE133 based MB, the normal first screen that allows you to select the software isn't there. There is nothing to make it load the program from a optical drive. All I see is a black DOS screen with some text.

Is this some issue with the chipset or something else? The MB is from a HP desktop.

The MB is HP/Asus. BTW, this MB has on board video (Trident) if that matters and the optical drive I just used to load XP.

At startup, can you press ESC/DEL/F1/F2/F10 to attempt to enter the BIOS at all?

I can get into the Bios ok. I do have video. It isn't blank.

    Hi

Is the first boot device set to CDROM in Bios? ir is it that this option is missing in BIOS, it shouldnt be or I have never noticed it missing on any mobo I have worked on.

Does the created bootable CD work on other PCs and boot fine? even if it does try a different brand CD/CDRW disk and burn the bootable CD data to it.

Again it is booting to the CD.
Apparently, it is a issue with missing or incorrect video drivers on the CD. Acronic sent me a trial iso image and that shows the GUI correctly. Qusetion is van I add what i need to the version I have now to get bit to work on this older video chipset MB?

The problem was with the one optical drive I was using. It was the same one that I loaded the O/S with and there was no known problem. I tried the other drive and it works fine. Both drives are old as is the MB (2000), so I don't know why one works and the other didn't especially when I just used it.

Have you tried a lens cleaning CD?

The drive was thoroughly cleaned out when I dismantled it and cleaned the lens with Isopropyl Alcohol.

Perhaps the dismantling broke the drive?

Not saying that it is your fault.

If that was the case, it wouldn't read anything at all.
I remember reading years ago, older optical drives had problems or just couldn't be used to boot from. These drives are 9 years old as is the MB. Not my system.

No big deal, just never happend to me before with a program that has been almost problem feee,
