Truly Painstaking DVD+RW problem.

Hi everybody, I am new here and this is my first post. Unfortunately it had to start with a problem. Anyways hopefully I am welcomed here and once again Hello.

I am not positive this may be a driver problem, but my DVD drive will not recognize DVD rewritables. Here is my info:

Windows Xp
emachinese model T2082
DVD drive D

Yeah Im not good at posting information at the top of my head. Whatever you need please ask for it. I'm desperate for fixing this problem. Thanks.

well, let's first start by download this: http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ and see what your dvd drive supports. if the dvd+r/rw thing isn't checked, then i'm sorry it won't recognize it. if it's checked, then we'll see if we can troubleshoot it.

addendum: you don't need to buy the software; just download the demo

 

GRR that thing is frustrating to use. Can you tell me how to do what I have to do? I'll get back to it first thing tommorow morning. I've gotta go to bed. Thanks Alot.

 

hrm... well, click on one of the icons until you see this image:

then in the top partition of checkboxes (drive supported read features), see if dvd+rw is checked.

 

Thats the image that shows up when i start it up. none of the boxes are checked
