Try This Enigma.

Hiya gang. heres a puzzle that i aint been able to solve as yet so am passing the Buck so to speak.. I have noticed that when a ''Repair'' is done on XP an annoying ''Log On'' page appears the one that asks you to pick user so as to load there settings etc.. Question is, How the hell do I rid myself of it.. in the past it has p....d me off that much I have formatted and reinstalled which is the signs of a desperate man.. or a degenerating brain maybe ?? so all answers on a postcard please and the first correct answer will recieve a commission to the Corp..

 

Control Panel -->User Accounts-->Change the way users log on-->Untick the "use Welcome Screen" box

 

Did you download Windows Net Frame by chance? That is the only program on windows xp that causes the sign in screen. If you did, there is now and update to Net Frame it is 1.1 , and after installing that, the screen will go away, that is if you are the only user. If you have more users listed on your computer, then it is there for each persons sign on. Try the update, it got rid of it for me.

If you don't want to log on at all, then just go to the page that Nirvana showed you, and uncheck use welcome screen, then go

Start -> Run -> control userpasswords2

Then uncheck "Users mustr enter a username and password to use this computer". It'll ask you for a username and password to use, and then you will never need to log in again
