    Hi,
    Win7 64bit pro.
It was suggested I try typing magnifier in search to get a magnify square at cursor tip, found it was no use, I am not on aero and ended up with magnify bar right across screen at top, upon close down of progs I see all my many, few hundred shortcuts on desktop, are all bunched together now where before they were around the outside of screen. How do I get Msoft to restore them back to whence they came ?

Damn Msoft if one ever tries something screen based it messes up your icons.

I was testing different screen resolutions (I received a larger 2nd hand monitor). I installed DesktopOK because for each resolution everything ended up at the left side of my screen.
You get a snapshot from DesktopOK and save it. Then when the icons are rearranged, you launch DesktopOK and select one of the saved arrangements.

    In future...
Right-click the Desktop and ensure Auto arrange icons is unchecked.

Even with that unchecked, as it always is on my computers, if the screen resolution changes (I was trying out different resolution on a "new" monitor), it must trigger something because all the icons move to the left side of the screen. It is maddening.

I don't need a bat file. I have DesktopOK installed. I'm used to it and I have it installed on several computers. In fact, I can have several different desktop arrangements and then revert to the one I want based on the date I created and saved it.
