Trying Out Windows Magnifier Has Rearranged All My Desktop Icons.

Hi,
Win7 64bit pro.
It was suggested I try typing magnifier in search to get a magnify square at cursor tip, found it was no use, I am not on aero and ended up with magnify bar right across screen at top, upon close down of progs I see all my many, few hundred shortcuts on desktop, are all bunched together now where before they were around the outside of screen. How do I get Msoft to restore them back to whence they came ?

Damn Msoft if one ever tries something screen based it messes up your icons.

just a shot in the dark sort of thing, but you could try a system restore point from a day or two ago,
and see what happens. this was a suggested substitute for magnifier:

I use it in both windows 7 and 10.It will prevent windows from automatically arranging icons and files and folders.

 

In future...
Right-click the Desktop and ensure Auto arrange icons is unchecked.

 

Try my link above that.It completely disables auto arrange.
