I hope someone here can help me. I have DESPERATELY been trying to burn videos in my Real Player playlist with music...and my Windows XP ACTS likje it is recoding and then burning..but it doesn't ever record them...even after it tried for 2 hours. I have downloaded decoders, burners, anything I read that might help and NOTHING works. I am a disabled 48 year old woman in Woodstock, Va. who just wants to make some favorite CD's...such as my collection of memorials to Steve Irwin and some old music. I have it all.....I just CAN'T get it to burn!!! I have wasted many CDr's trying. If ANYONE can help me, please contact me at < snipped email > and THANK YOU...Cathy :cry

I'm not a Real Player user, but I'm assuming that these videos have the .rm or .rmvb extension. You should be able to burn them as data, and then play them back on any PC with Real Player, or any PC with the Real decoder installed. Your post wasn't very clear and you said something about trying burn videos in your playlist with music.... I'm not sure what this means... are you trying to combine video and music into one file so the music plays while the video is being watched? Are you trying to alternate video and music on the same disc? Are you trying to get these things to play on other PCs? Or on your TV and DVD player?

I apologize I did not type enough...by that point I was so mad I was ready to cry. Ok...here goes. I have ALWAYS wanted to learn to burn CD's of music...up til now I only know how to burn pictures, graphics & documents. I learned about documents just a few weeks ago when a girl I had as a manager deleted 3 MSN groups I had and I lost years of work. So I tried to learn first by burning an mp3. Well...1 song took up a whole disc. I knew I did not format that right..but when I go to my D drive on my Windows XP2000...it only gives me 1 format choice. Then I had always heard you could not save You TubeVideos. I spent hours reading on here, and downloaded converters and who knows what else....every article said a different thing. I downloaded a Vixy beta converter. All I know is that after that, I could download any video I chose at You Tube legally is said. Well, they are all loaded in my Real Player. They are .flv files. I am trying to record on a CD-R. Last night I also updated my Windows Media Player as it apparently was out of date. I have Roxio 5 CD I cannot figure out how to use, I have HP Memories I just tried to make a memorial disc on that did not work for my baby sister who I lost last June at 45. Was hoping to create discs for her 3 children. I have Wave Pad,Express Burn, Express Rip,& a Prism Video Converter. All things I downloded after reading about them at different sites. I Also have a FLV player downloaded. So..what it amounts to is that every time I crete a playlist in the Real Player, and then tell it to Burn the CD..it SAYS it is, but it isn't. That's all I know. I can make graphics great..I can't do any of this technical stuff, and being disabled cannot afford to upgrade my current players. Thank u again if you can help....Cathy

OK. Burning a Real Player playlist will not burn the actual things in the playlist. You will just end up with a list of songs or videos. The actual songs and videos will not burn. For burning data and music, I strongly recommend BurnAware. It's free, and very easy to use. If you have music in MP3 or WAV or WMA format, it will convert the music so it will play in a standard CD player, like in your car or stereo. If you want to burn the .flv files, you must burn them as data. Using BurnAware, select 'Create data disc' from the main menu. Then click the Add Files button and browse to where the .flv files are stored. DO NOT browse to the playlists, you need to find the actual files. Once you find the files you want to burn, highlight the file and click the Add button. To add more than one at a time, after highlighting the first one, hold down the CTRL key when you click each additional file to keep the former files highlighted. When you're done adding files, click Finished. It'll pop back to the project screen. Make sure everything you want to burn is in this list, then click the big red dot in the upper right corner and let it burn. If you want to burn music that will play in a CD player, the process is basically the same: Add the files, click Finished, click the big red dot. As I am not a user of the HP software you mentioned, I cannot help with that, but you may find help at the HP web site. Here's the BurnAware link:
