TRYING to DOWNLOAD MALWAREBYTES-NOT WORKING!

What's going on?!?:confused

I NEED to download Malwarebytes ASAP! When I download from majorgeeks I get an .exe file (as usual). When I click on it, it runs an install wizard (as usual), but then it installs a file in Program Files that is EMPTY. Tried 3 times, same result.

ALSO WORRISOME, when I go to malwarebytes.com to install, when I try to download, I am re-directed to majorgeeks.com! Who gave MGeeks permission to override my downloads? How do I disable this? This irks me!

PLEASE HELP! I've got major computer issues and need this software...getting DESPERATE!!:cry

Try changing the name once it is downloaded. Try just changing it to 123.com then see if it installs. The malware may be blocking it.

Then complete the instructions as best you can and then post in the Malware forum with your logs attached.

Fourth Download attempt worked. The first three times a file "mbam-rules" was downloaded. Fourth time I got a setup file. I will post results in Malware with log. THANKS EVER SO MUCH!!

Oh, any clues on why I was being redirected away from MWBytes site to MGeeks?

Because that is where MBAM stores the exe. Some sites re-direct you to a place like CNet. What you got was normal. Everyone, at least I suspect in the US, who clicks the download link gets sent to MajorGeeks for the download.
