    hey
just got a bsod with that message : page fault in nonpaged area
    STOP (0xc8861696 0x00000000 0xc80581756 0x00000000) or something like that

i cannot find the minidump file which should be located in c windows, so the debugger won t work probably and what do you mean by saying "Note: Make certain that your pagefile still resides on the system partition, otherwise Windows will not be able to save the debug files" :confused

    os windows xp pro
    intel pentium 2,8 1gb ram

    thanx in advance

Since you are searching the C drive I assume you have got Windows to restart?

You will only get a dump if you have enabled the options in the system properties dialog box.

Hold the windows key down and press pause/break.
On the advance tab choose startup and recovery
Make sure you have set the options to your requirements.
One of this specifies the location of the dump file.

However a dump may not be the only or best way to resolve you problem.

I suggest you run Check Disk asap.

If you would like to provide more information about any recent changes to your system and what happened just before the blue screen.

    Look in event viewer

    type into the run box

    eventvwr.msc

    what does it show?

finally what were the exact error codes? Only the first group of numbers need be specified.

anyway i opened the event viewer and there s a lot of stuff tell me exactly where to look i could attach some jpeg but i use greek language so i don t know if it would help...
i already checked the path is : %systemroot%/minidump, but it s not there-all the requirements are ok
i didn t see any other codes i wrote down only these sorry!
i ll run a chdsk.... get back to me if you want any additional info and thanx mate for answering...
