Trying to install OS.

    Hi to all,

    I am tying to re-install Vista to my computer but after the install software has been running for 10-15 minutes I get a error box stating:
    Windows could not collect information for ( OSImage) Since the image file
    ( install.wim ) does not exist. Can anyone help a novice?.

    Have a look at the surface of the disk for scratches. Maybe try cleaning the disk wit ha soft non-fluffy cloth?

    It sounds like a physical defect with the disk is keeping it from being read.

    Thanks for the replies. I have had errors with 3 different OS discs that I have tried, Windows 7 Beta ( worked first time ) Windows XP Pro and Vista Ultimate
    which both stated error as cannot find CD Driver ?.Discs are brand new and have been cleaned.
