I am trying to update the bios for an ASUS P2B mobo. I download the AFLASH.exe and the new bios from ASUS. I make the floppy. When I try to update the bios, I get this error:

    Error - Unknown Flash Memory

I looked up the error on the ASUS website and they say that the chip is not programmable or is supported? The bios chip is an Award chip. Where do I go to get an up to fdate bios or how do I fix this problem?

They dropped support for it then? Seems odd, since you have the files. My thought first off, would be to browse their FTP where you got the Aflash and look for an older version of the Aflash utility. They usually keep old copies there. Along the same lines, if there have been multiple releases of the BIOS, try getting next available BIOS and working your way up flashing each version.

Okay, so instead of going for the latest one, I should update from the next, to the next, to the next, till I finally get to the latest one?

That would be what I would try, after trying an older version of their flash utility.
