"ttax.exe - Bad Image" error

When trying to open turbo tax 07, i get a dialog box titled ttax.exe - Bad Image
The error reads: "The application or DLL C:\.............\msvcm80.dll is not a valid windows image".

Have removed and reinstalled the application w/ support tech online and using install disc to no avail. Have run system file checker, no issues.

Program worked fine in April. When tried to open in August, got this error and cannot seem to resolve. XP SP3 issue?

Has anyone ever seen this error and any suggestions how to fix?

Additional info.

It had been suggested to me to try running and, if necessary, installing program in safe mode. I did both and got same error. It had also been suggested to move the specified dll to the win32 folder but that didn't help either.

Have tried copying contents of install cd to desktop and installing from there as suggested by OEM tech...no help.

I really appreciate anyone's input on this.
