Turn off auto-reboot in cmos

    I am working on a Compaq Evo D510 SFF and I keep getting a blue screen of death. When this happens it reboots so fast I can't read the message or hit pause. I know on some machines there is a setting in cmos to turn off restart on error. Anyone know how to on this machine. All I know is I hit f10 to get into the system utilities. HELP!

    If windows is loading...then right click my computer / properties / advanced / startup and recovery and uncheck the box for auto reboot.

    You should then get the bsod that you can write the error down and let us know what it is.

    sorry I forgot to mention all the details. The machine does not boot up. It goes right to the black screen where I pick safe mode, last known, normal, and none of them work.

    the owner does. He dropped it off last night while I was not home and he didn't leave it. We want to try and keep the data and programs so we are waiting on formatting. Hopefully if I can read the message I'll have a better idea what the issue is. What can we do with the XP CD?
