   If I turn it off by checking the box in device manager, to I get higher performance on my laptop?
   
   PS: I am not afraid of data loss due to a sudden power outage since I am connected to a power source 24/

   Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit, this option is there in Vista also and in the 32 bit versions of both Vista and 7
