Turning On / Off..Could be a Fly in the Ointment??

:-o Unfortunately a few other Family Members get on my PC from time to time and not everyone Shuts Down as they should when their finished..I've encountered a few Hiccups if you will..On Start Up I get this black & white Wait for Normal mode to let Computer log on, then File System "C" checking for disk consistency..Once that is all done then the Computer will carry on as it should..When shutting down I get this Do not turn off or unplug as there is 1 to 8 updates being added..

I have Avast Anti Virus and ran a Virus Check..Some files can't be checked as there is something preventing those ones from being checked

I had a friend over the other day and he had used your Website in the past so we had attempted to search for something that may help but He run out of time..

It's a Home PC with Windows 7 Professional and I use a Google Chrome Browser..:-o:confused I'm somewhat Computer Illiterate but I'm learning I think more through Error:-o:-o:wave Any Help in Pointing me in the Right Direction will be greatly Apprciated Thanks

Do you allow Windows to update or do you ignore and turn it off?
I assume you have automatic updates turned on. Do this: Go to the Control Panel and Click on Windows Updates. In the left pane, click Change Settings. Click the down arrow and select Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them. You will get a popup telling there are updates. If you want to turn off the computer because you don't have the time to download and install updates, you can ignore the popup. You can also look at the updates and only check to install some smaller sized ones if your time is limited.

I install the important ones but ignore the optional ones.

Absolutely, Yes I know about going that route to select how I want to receive Updates..My HicUp in the System if you will just happens to be a few things and the Automatic Updates notice that comes when I shutdown the Computer is a repetitious action I believe...Once I can get to the bottom of whats causing the Corruption I hope to clear it up and have things run smoothly...Thanks........:-o
