    Hello again,
Given the age of my motherboard - 4Core1600-GLAN Which was not designed to boot up from a USB stick. I am a little stuck. There are no alternatives in the Bios to boot from USB.
Given that the Windows 10 PRO recovery disk/UBS stick would fit on a dual sided DVD disk my question is how do I turn the USB stick into a bootable DVD?

    The story so far...
downloaded ImgBurn and usbit. Created a backup of usb stick with usbit and tried to burn the image using Imgburn.
After a lot of attempts and dawn rising I thought I needed help. I knew I needed help.

    Looking forward to your considerations.

    Still working on it.
f2i is good for some stuff but I'm having difficulty with making the disk bootable. I'm sure ImgBurn will do it but it;s down to the correct procedure.
Making ISO of image. Mounting it. creating a bootable ISO with the mounted files and folders and windows boot stuff. I will let you know when I am clearer...

The information for F2I doesn't mention making bootable ISOs from flash drives. I read elsewhere that the boot information is different.

yes it has kept me going for many hours. No resolution. No success. Thank god for making a backup. I have a problem after I run advancesystemcare 9.2. Everything stops working when I reboot. I am truly confused and wonder if I should pu the XP backup back on the SSD.
It's getting late and I heard the dawn chorus last night.
That's what obsession is all about.

I made the Recovery Disk for Windows 10. It fit on a CD-RW. It's curious that a USB flash drive needs a DVD-DL for backup/duplication.

No sorry mdonah When I titled this thread I thought that 6 GB written onto a bootable usb flash would require dual layer DVD. It was my incorrect starting point..
fitting on a CD-RW would be much better but the only option when creating it was a USB stick 8GB or more,
How did you make one on a CD?
    Kind regards,

Just to finish off with, I thought I would share the latest.
My problem was not being able to use the USB stick to boot from. The Bios didn't give me the choice. But then I came across plop...

    Thank you google.

It allows me to do what I wanted to do, I think.
    Best wishes to all.

I started hirens boot cd which I copied via rufus from iso to usb
    http://rufus.akeo.ie/

Started fine from PLOP CD > Boot from USB

I tried the Windows 10 recovery USB via PLOP. It started and opened the WIN 10 Window but I was feeling impatient and 10 minutes was all I was prepared to wait...
Not sure if it will work. Will try again sometime and leave it longer.
