Anyone just watched the 9/11 program on bbc 1?

Very moving, I'm sure it's not the only one to be shown, around the world too I'm sure they're being shown.

Yup just watched it all, even though it was only a reconstruction I still kept saying in my head "move, get out, keep moving" I watched the miracle of starwell B the other night so I pretty much knew who was gonna survive

The most moving doco I'v seen was the """"""? brothers documentary when they showed all the firemen and police officers who died at the end to emotional music,if that didnt affect you you must have a black heart :)

I couldn't watch any of it right now. It's too moving when I'm at my best...which , right now, I'm not.

Yep, I just watched it mcadam, I still sometimes have trouble believing to this day that it actually happened.

@Rikky, that link you posted was awesome, that was one devoted dad for sure.

It is watching something like that, that makes you realise how lucky you and your family are.

Or not, as the case may be......I've worked with children with difficulties like the boy (as was) in that video. They are the most grateful, loving caring children I have every had the honor of working with. Maybe if the world was full of people like that, and not the demons of destruction who create days likes 9/11 we would all live in a much nicer place.

The wheelchair is not his problem; poeple who SEE his wheelchair as a disability are the problem :)

    Sorry, you misunderstood me.
I totally agree with what you say, so don't get me wrong, but I meant so much time and devotion is required to look after someone with a disability.
You are so right in saying that if the world was full of people like the boy in the video that it would be a much better place.

We had 14 suspected terrorists arrested here in the UK at the weekend, one was up the next road from me, that is too close too home.

I didn't misunderstand you...you misunderstood me hehe ;) I was just agreeing with you and adding further to your point. However, not everyone here will consider themselves more fortunate...we can't assume that :)

It was shown on Aussie TV earlier this week.
I watched it. It was well done, a mixture of live shots and reconstructions.
It still hits me when I see an old DVD, or movie, that still shows the twin towers, as part of the city landscape. Bazza

I have very much enjoyed this site, over time we have seen many contentious happenings andwidely conflicting opinions.

I have very very rarely expressed any definitive 'political' opinions in the time I have been here as there has always been room to disagree.

I'll take my learning where I can find it, despite the fact that I am an atheist, in the real sense of the concept.* Nevertheless I have felt comfortable here.

I cannot in all conscience associate myself with people who will tolerate blatant lies, distortions and malicious innuendos espoused for the sole purpose of obstructing curiosity and doubt. To put it politely.

I will always be proud to be a MajorGeek, I will always remember that the driver is curiosity.

    Truth is a harsh mistress.

*pace a thread where AbbySue asked how atheists would describe themselves. She was gracious enough to acknowledge that a-theists are not necessarily anti god(s) or lacking in awareness of the spiritual. AS, the kind of person, who in my eyes, could almost give religion a good name, respect to you AS.
