I have a PCI EX. Saphaire Radeon x550 256mb with a s-video 7 pin my TV is also 7 pin, but i have a 4 pin cable. Im not sure if thats why im getting what im getting. When I plug the s-video cable up from my graphic card to my TV i see my desktop but its looks like its refreshing. Like i can see my desktop refreshing. It has very poor picture and NO color. I was told it might be my resolution. Then I was reading about the 4 pins and 7 pins. im not sure what it is if anyone can help Please and thank you.

i have my laptop hooked up to an older rca 42" hdtv, with s-video, and the picture is fair (decent enough to stream a movie from netflix, and watch it on the tv). i'd look around in your tv settings (making the screen smaller), and/or check video settings. in the link below, it says most laptops have 7 pin, but accepts a 4 pin cable (which is what my tv uses). i don't know if a 7 pin cable would help or not? g/l - sos
