TV Switch On

    I just wondered if any body out there has a Toshiba TV freeview I bought this set 5 months ago and for some unknown reason it switches itself on from time to timeI have not timed any porogram to come on I have been to the shop where I bought it and they have not come up with any answers.I wonder if anyone has any ideas.

    Does this happen at around the same time each day when the TV is on standby?

    Have you tried Toshiba's support?

    Only thing I can think of off-hand is that at specific times of the night, normally early hours is that the TV may do a search for new Freeview Channels, I know my Panasonic DVD/HDD recorder does.

    It can be woken from standby by anything connected to it so disconnect anything other than the aerial see if it stops.

    It could be a remote control somewhere:confused You could also try covering the infrared sensor on the front of the TV to see if it stops.In my experience whenever a TV does something out of the ordinary usually someone has sat on the remote :-D

    Thank you for your reply the switch on happens on different times morning or evening someone told me it could be the remote,I have tried Toshiba support but it is always engaged I think I will go back to the shop where I bought it and see where that gets me.
