I've got a KWorld dv/av/tv tuner card that won't produce video for me.

I get sound, but no vid.

I've looked on other forums and resource sites and it seems the drivers that come with it were written for Windows 98.

The card uses conexant chips (cx88x? 883?) all around (tuner, crossbar, vid capture).

Most the drivers I find are for the 8x8 (848, 878) chipsets.

I've tried some "works with all cards" programs, but they rely on chip-dedicated WDM drivers already installed.

P.S. - Kworld and Conexant support sux.

Thanx, Halo, but I tried that one.

Why is it listed as for 878 chipsets?

I thought this has 883 chips...

Anyway, it didn't work - "little" problem here is that when I try to use it, even after uninstalling the TV88x drivers that came on the disk w/ the card, when I run the setup.exe prog, it starts to install, hangs & I hear this "computer beep" and it hangs for good.

SOOoooo... I used the XP wizard & installed the drivers by going to the locations to which I extracted them. They took, but still no video.

    Ack.

Getting close to too late to return this darned thing.

I have no idea that the company would need to answer but as you say their support is not so good.

When uninstalling the drivers did you also delete the PCI cards reference from Device Manager, delete all the files in the temporary files folder ( use CCleaner for that ) and reboot then re-install the drivers? ( reason, some old installer files may just corrupt the install of newer or better drivers )

Did you also install the PVR-PLUS Patch file that was listed below the driver, seems to fix a few problems?

Me personally as its coming close to the warrenty or time you can return the product I would be seriously thinking of doing just that as the product is not working as advertised and you have done all you can to get it working.

Thx, Halo - I hadn't deleted the PCI from device manager - I'll try and report back.
