    Twelve - Twelve - Twelve

    That's todays date.
Just noticed the symetry of it when I wrote it on my daily scratch pad.
    Kind of a date anagram.

What does it mean? I don't know but I'm sure there could be almost endless theories and interpretations. :confused

Mostly, I guess it's just people with obsessive-compulsive tendencies that notice stuff like that. rolleyes
So we can just gaze at it and be perplexed. :foolish

This kind of date symetry will not happen again this century, so it's the last one we'll ever see. :cool

Funnily enough, I did ponder on this at 12:12 a.m., (really!, roflmao).

The running joke in the entertainment industry is that today is sound check day. :-D

Very cool indeed! I think the next such date is coming in 2101. :cool

That one took a moment? :confused

    "Testing (pause) one - two"
    "Testing (pause) one - two"
"Testing (pause) one - two - three"

Never would have thought of that. ;)

    Wow, I missed that moment.
    So there was actually a 12:12:12 A.M. on 12/12/12.
    That's making me sick.

I'm a bit of a kill joy when it comes to remarkable dates.
It interests me for a few seconds, but I can't get over the fact it's no different from any other day, there are no hidden meanings or weirdness and it happens every 100 years. There are many things that happen every 10,20,25,50,70,100 years.
It's simply a matter of scale and rarity, 12:12:12 happens every 12 hours, but it's frequency subtracts from the interest, if we live for 600 years on average , would the 100 yearly date be as big a deal?
The one that baffles me is the 11:11 on the 11/11/1111 nearly 1000 years ago and never to be repeated in any way shape or form unless we create extra months.

Like I said, kill joy :-D

Yep, what's the big deal about any special date/number, if you want to put it that way. Birthday's don't mean much except the day you are actually born, (which is the only real BIRTHday, anyway). Apart from 18/21, when you become a legal adult, depending on whee you live. What's so special about New Year, or anything else.
'Special' dates depend on who's calendar your going by in any event. It's all artificial as time is just "time" in the final analysis.
I guess mankind has always had a fascination with numbers, anniversaries and 'patterns' of some sort. Does that make us an intelligent species or just anal? - You decide.LOL

Party pooper! LOL They are excuses to celebrate. While they are basically meaningless, I don't see a problem with people just celebrating a day.

The one I don't get is the 21 Dec 2012 (written in the wrong order for the non-Americans :-D). My aunt actually felt the need to post a link on facebook to NASA's website where they say the prediction the world is going to end is a bunch of BS. Ohhh....really??? What a surprise! I wanted to post some smart-assed comment about the degradation of the human intelligence since the popularity of the internet and so called 'facts' such as these.

I was really just illustrating and expanding Ned's statements a little - I don't believe in them LOL. I agree that everyone has a right/need to feel special at least once or twice a year. No disagreement, there.;) Hey, I like numbers and patterns and so-forth.:)

And at 2:15 + 16 seconds PM today it will be:

    12/13/14:15:16

If you use a 24 hour clock...

    All we have is time.

    But;

    All we need is love.

    Yeah, I know that's corny.

    Not quite - that's 12/13/12 14:15:16

We can all revisit this in about two years - 12/13/14.

I like that movie and I've seen it a number of times.
Think I have a VHS copy of it someplace.

    Filby was a good guy.

Wonder where that cigar is now. ;)

Well according to the Time Traveler (for so it will be convenient to speak of him) the cigar is exactly where it was on New Years Eve 1899... ;)

I have it on DVD and every time travel related movie ever made. IMO, the 1960 version with Rod Taylor is the best...

I know I'm late to this party but I thought this was funny.

My boss's wife told me her nephew's was born on 12/12 at 12:12 am, and, ironically, was celebrating his 12th birthday this year. :-D
