Two brains - schiophrenic operations

Hi everyone-

I have an AMD Athlon64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ processor on a ASUS A8N-SLI Delux motherboard.

My problem is I cannot get most games (none are more than 3 years old) to run properly. Most I cannot even get past the start-page.

It was suggested that I either shut down one of the CPUs or time them (not sure what that's all about).

It was suggested I come here and download WinLauncherXP v2.0 and use it to control the CPU.

My difficulty is without actually starting a game or program - I see nothing showing up in the Launcher? How do I use the Launcher?

Specifically: Thief3, Dues Ex and Dues Ex: Invisible War are all programs I cannot even get started. None of them are capable of running using a Dual Core processor (Eidos says so). Sooooo - Please help.
