    Hello Geeks! :D

I'm upgrading a ton of parts on my current computer (basically turning into a brand new computer), but I will be keeping, among other parts, an IDE DVD drive. I bought a new SATA DVD drive, though, and I am wondering if I might have any problems running the two together.

Basically, I'll want the SATA DVD drive as my main-check-for-CD-at-bootup drive and the IDE will be the number 2 drive. When doing the initial boot up to install Vista, will it check for the SATA drive first or the IDE one?

    Thanks for your help.

You are going to have to give your MOBO info so that this question can be answered

Oh, yeah, sorry bout that...don't know what I was thinkin' not putting that in.

It's an Asus P5QL-E. There are 6 internal SATA slots and one IDE slot on the board. The only IDE drive I will be using is the DVD drive.

So, uh, anyone have an ideas on this? Are there any problems I might have, or should it go smoothly?
