    Hi,
Built a new rig, my first. I have two Seagate SATA 320g. I can see both of them in the BIOS, but only one @ 300g in windows.

On the MOBO I set the DVD to slot#1 in the SATA to boot from and the HDDs to slots 3 & 4.

Someone who knows a little more than me changed one HDD to #2 SATA slot & it made no difference. I didn't see what he did after the machine rebooted.

I just wanted the simplest install with two seperate HDDs set up as :C and :D and the DVD E: drives. :confused

Can some one tell me how to fix this. Oh keep it simple please, I'm new to this.

    Congratulations on your efforts.

We need more information to help. Please give some details of your build, in relation to the problem.
That is motherboard make and model no,
IDE and SATA configuration for all attached drives.
Do you also have a floppy?

    right click "my computer"
    click "manage"
    select "disk management"
a window should pop up saying something about "initialize drive"
just click next, next next etc

then on the right of the window you should see both HDD's,
    one saying "local disk c:"
    the other with nothing.
right click the one that ISNT your c: & select format.

all should be good now :)
