?Two vid cards

I just bought a VGA EVGA|GF 6800GT 256-A8-N344-AX ,To put in a rig We are giving our son for Chirstmas(p4 3.2 Intell D865gbf motherboard 1 gig of ram) this was mine and I used the All-in wonder 9000 pro. This card has a TV turner in it that works great. Is there any way to use the two in the same PC.Not at same tie but maybe change from one to the other. I know the ATI card is old but I used it to record movies . Anyway just thinking (not good) Thanks Chuck

Dual monitors work fine in 98- ME (i have done this ) not sure about XP(never used)

You can use both but you'll need to uninstall the drivers and use a driver cleaner everytime you wanna swap.
That'll probably get annoying.

 

It's not worth the effort and easier to just buy a TV Tuner card.

You would have to remove the card and drivers, and install the new card with new drivers and vice versa everytime you swap.

 

Mabye i should read the post after i finish my coffee. LOL

 

Thanks to all, I wasn't sure ,so I came to the Best to make sure.I'll just get a tuner card later. I'm using a tuner in this rig It's a Hauppaugel Win TV and it SUCKS (sorry). No match for my off ATI. Anyway THANKS again Chuck

 

Not sure if it's suited to your area, but the best tuner card I have ever used is a Nebula DigiTV.

They make a PCI version, or a USB external verison.

Failing that, DVICO FusionHDTV DVB-T Plus, or the USB DVB-T version.

If they are out of your price range, Compro is very good for the price. (DVB-T300)

 

Thanks for the reply Insomniac. I called the tech.for the card (Win.2000 ) and we or he got it going I did not have it on US. and so it was picking up MHz not Channels. So it's working ok now ( not as good as the ATI did ) Thanks as always for your replys Chuck
