I am only offered a maximum of 1280x768 in my current setup- It is able to display in 1280x1024(in windows anyway). I have looked around and found most of the problems deal with not having options for screen resolution(min res only offer) and use xorg to correct the problem. I'm just not sure if this is the same problem or can I screw up the settings I have now? confused

    /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Follow the current layout under "Screens" for adding a new resolution.

Or, if using Nvidia drivers, the nivida-settings control panel can do the same.
