UDF files unreadable

Hi,

Here is the issue, my husband's HP XP Home machine has Roxio Record Now, but after a clean reinstall, he can no longer read the CDs he created.

My HP XP Home can not read them either, I have version 4.5 of Record Now.

The Roxio site does not list a software update for versions so old.

I went to the HP site and tried a UDF file reader, but it will not install because it was not meant for XP, go figure!

I don't care if we can EVER write in UDF again, we just need to be able to read it... once... so we can convert it to another file type.

The description certainly made it sound like it sound be what I would want.

But when I try to install it pops up a Stop and informs me that "This updater is designed for Easy CD Creator 5 and up."

Any more ideas?

 

Maybe...do you have windows 98, or Me lying around?

 

lol **Deep sigh** It just so happens I have a Win98 machine tucked away.
Silly me, I spaced it.
I was getting used to XP lol and thinking I wouldn't need my 98 again. lol Good thing I haven't made it a Linux box yet.

I will try it out and post back, prolly not for a few days, trouble on the home front.
