I just got my first bill.

It was supposed to be $19.99 for installation and $19.99 a month for 6 months, then they threw in a load of hidden charges and it came to over $100, I saw the bill and nearly choked, and it's not even THAT fast or reliable, it cuts out when the wind blows and there are times I swear it was AOL dial up!!!

ComCrap Low Speed/Offline, complete with loads of hidden charges, unexpected blackouts, and ignorant/rude customer service reps, sign up today!!!

they are just like any other corporation, out to rip you off.

I loved the we charge an extra month ahead for the first month feature. Really pissed me off, they do it again when your plan is up and you go to the normal price.

Thanks for the heads up on that, damn, and I thought the phone company was a bitch to deal with! :p

Comcast has left me feeling more ripped off than that time I had to take my car to a no name garage......

lol they are no better than SBC trust me. They control some odd 80% of the cable market I think.

What really pisses me off is they are gonna start putting controls into email, if you dont read or open an email for 60 days they auto delete it. The fact they do that pisses me off, im lucky I got my own mail server. Well not lucky really since I paid for it.

They are offering the same deal here (Central NJ). I think the offer is for Cable TV customers. What are the other charges? I'm about to sign up for the same package just so I can avoid coming into the City for the republican convention.

Hey that,s really weird, I've not had any problems with my cable. When Comcast took over, it was smooth and only got a speed increase. I pay $49 a month plus like $4 in taxes or something! Oh well, this is in Pueblo, CO.

Comcast is a monster. And the people they put to work on the phones are morons. Chances are you were signed up for a package you didn't need.

That is only if you leave the unread email on their server for more than 60 days. I download mine every three minutes. They don't care how long you leave an unread email if you download it to your machine, they just don't want unread email clogging up their servers for months at a time.

I do have to ask, though...if you haven't read an email in 60 days, what's the difference if it's deleted or not?

I would tend to think, that the black outs are from all the upgrades happening, then when everybody's calls, and after 50 folks complaining, thats where the bad attitude starts........I have dsl for my phone and computer, and comcast for the tv..........we just got in the mail yesterday some new channel changes, and each time they change something, there's a blackout time.........comcast gave us two pay-per-view's to keep us happy with the problems............if your having problems, keep track of the down time, with logs, and tell them, and they will cut you some slack on the bill............as has happen for years, you have to tell them, when the cable goes out, they don't always know.........and you can find out how long it's going to last......and I don't work for them..............wobbles

Just makes me mad they are controlling how I use my space. They give me 10 megs they shouldnt worry about how clogged it is as long as I dont go over the 10 megs. That 10 megs is mine for my email, they shouldnt worry about how I use it. I can see them implementing something like that if I go over 10 megs.

As far as I can see (which isnt far, I'm short sighted!) they should allow each user the allotted space and HAVE THE HARDWARE TO COPE WITH THAT. If they can't handle 10MB worth of email for each customer, its time for them to upgrade!

It just seems like a silly thing to get mad about is all. I mean...really. So they'll delete unopened email from their servers after 60 days. How many people will that really affect?

Me, I've got about 846 things more important than them deleting 60-day-old unopened email to get my panties in a twist over. ;) :D

Well, its the principle thats infuriating, really. Its like saying, Hey, OAPS! If you don't collect your pensions by the 17th of the month, we won't give you any money at all!!

Well, maybe not, but ... somthing along that lines... grumble grumble

Goldfish has the idea, its a I guess you could say, freedom thing. I pay 49 a month for internet alone and I only get 10 megs space and they want to tell me that if I dont check my mail for 2 months theyll delete all the unread ones. I barely use the comcast mail but its just the principal of it.

you can relate it to the people who are mad about the advertising in gmail, it doesnt effect anything a computer looks at keywords and chooses your advertisements, it doesnt bother me but some people got pretty upset over it, just the principal of it.

Well thats a whole other issue. Thats because a computer program (somthing not to be trusted with personal information! Apparently  ) is READING your email and USING INFORMATION to EXPLOIT you. Myself, I'd trust a computer to process my information more than a person.

I can see that...but I still can't help but come down on the side of "if you haven't even opened an email for two months, it can't possibly be that important to you." Especially if you leave it on Comcast's server instead of downloading it to your own machine.

I would LOVE to only pay $49 per month for internet, by the way! I got basic cable television for $14.00 per month so I could save $1.00 per month for both services (bill is $64.00, was $65.00 without TV).
