    Hey guys,
I just re-did my parents computer because they had gotten too many spyware programs installed on it. Now, after just one week, it appears to have been hijacked again. The home page on their Internet browser has been taken over and the same not-so-nice popup ad keeps coming up...a lot. And that's not a good thing considering that I have a three younger brothers and sisters.
I've downloaded spybot and adaware but after removing everything they've found, it's still doing it. What can I do to keep it from doing this - it's not working - especially for my little siblings.

    Thanks,
    newgroove

Not sure, see if your Hijack This log has the Home Search Assistant. If so, try HSRemove. Or CWShredder. Or give them another browser. Or remove MS Java:

From the Start menu, select Run.
    Enter the command
    RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection java.inf,UnInstall
    to start the uninstall process
Click Yes to the confirmation, then select Reboot.
After the machine restarts, delete the following items:
    the \%systemroot%\java folder
    java.pnf from the \%systemroot%\inf folder
    jview.exe and wjview.exe from the \%systemroot%\system32 folder
    The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Java VM registry subkey
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AdvancedOptions\JAVA_VM registry subkey (to remove the Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) options)

Microsoft Java is now removed. You can download Sun's newer JVM for Windows at http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html
