UK 56k pay as you go ISP?

im looking for a pay as you go number so i can test a friends connection to find out if his ISP is cusing the problems hes getting, preferably one you dont have to sign up for please

must be UK and 56k dial up number please

You will have to sign up,no way around it,all you have to do is go to any of the major web sites,freeserve,aol,virgin sign up which will take all of 10 mins and set the modem up to dial the number.

Maybe if you desribe the problem he is having someone can help you,include operating system,system specs,read the announcement at the top of the forum on how to find system specs using a tool such as everest or sandra

PS you will not need a credit card to sign upo for pay as you go

I haven't had time to test it out. But it should work. Its a free dial up service. all the information is there.

 

Whoa...I have to say that my experience with free dial up internet is NOT GOOD. You have to take into consideration WHERE the ISP you are dialing into is located. If it is outside your local calling area, the phone rates may be INSANE.

If it is for one-time, short usage, it may be acceptable to call a foreign country, but if you're not looking to have a huge phone bill, be careful when considering this option.
