So folks, what do you think the Ultimate Car is, it does not have to be a new supercar as in a Lamborghini or Ferarri but it can be a classic car from the 1900s, it could be a normal run of the mill family run about.. but what do we think is the ultimate mode of transport car wise?

Lets say how about 3 catagories, and pick 1 of your favs for each?

    Supercar

    Family

    Classic

then what wins outright out of the 3 as the ultimate.

    Will post mine later ;)

    Supercar The new Ford GT.

Family Nissan Ultima V6. Most of the serious bits same as their top of the line, performance tires and suspension, excellent performance, seats 5 VERY comfortably, quiet and well appointed, and is taut without being punishing. (Honda Accord V6 would be a toss-in here as well.)

    Classic 1937 Deusenberg SJ.

Just a suggestion..when you post your Top 3, how about scamming some photos off the web and posting them next to your choices. The cars between the UK and the US are very different, as it is all over the world, and some won't have a clue what car you are thinking of :)

    Supercar Any Aston Martin.

    Family Honda Legend or Accord.

Classic Ford GT 351 HO, or a '67 Mustang.

A super car to me is just the fastest car out there that looks good ,straight line accelleration the most important aspect, handling and top speed arnt that important to me,thus the ultimate supercar has to be

    http://www.fantasycars.com/McLaren_F1/mclaren_f1.html

For even more affordable excitement,,it doesnt look that good to me but punches the numbers 0-60 in under 2.5 secs

    http://www.arielmotor.co.uk/04/frames.htm

BUT Ferrari's will always hold a place in my heart

Family car has to be the latest range rover, celebs who own them say its like driving an aeroplane the comfort level is so great, why the idiots called it vogue though:confused:

supercar-viper... i know its cliche but well i want one damnit...

family car... i'd vote for viper but i don't want to be repetitive so i'll stick with a nice chevy monte carlo....

classic car... its a toss up between a 68 charger and a 1939 ford. amazingly thats the name of the car.... ford..... how catchy....
Think i'll stick with the charger...

    Classic - 19(?)52 Bug-eyed Sprite!!

I sat in a viper for the first time 2 days ago. Very nice. The 06 has such a nice look, combined look of alot of different time proven rides. I about peed myself when I saw it on the showroom floor.

Just fantastic styling, super comfy interior too.

Supercar: Porche 911 Turbo, GT2, or Carerra GT; I cannot decide.

    Family: Audi S8 Wagon

    Classic: Ferrari 250 Testarossa

but overall ultimate? Nissan Skyline GTR R34 - just for the sheer uniqueness (since it was not sold in America) and overall badassness; I would be hard pressed to choose between this and a Subaru Impreza 22B or Prodrive P1, but I'd have to give the nod to the Nissan.

OOO didnt pick one, of course being a red blooded male, the Mclaren :)

More specifically the Mclaren F1 LM Le mans '95' only five were made the ultimate absolute no compromise super car, still the fastest accellerating, best power to weight ration of any modern super car 680bhp per ton and it was made ten years ago, faster than a ferrari enzo 0-60 2.9 secs, central driving position,3 seater for two chicks :D

    Supercar
Well at present and ruling out my favorites in the treo of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche and going for some of the more exotic supercars around, I thought of the outlandish Pagani Zonda F , Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Venturi Fetish ( for those that dont know this is an electric 2 seater sportscar ), to the iconic Mclaren F1 GTR which I luckily got to sit in one at the British motor show as I ended up getting in with my cousin on trade day ( have pictures I took of it somewhere I will have to find ).

BUT I settled in this catagory for the insainly quick Koenigsegg CCX

    http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/9194/ccxblack7gd.jpg

    Family
There are many many good family cars out their, depends what family type your are, you may need a Small Family Hatchback, People Carrier, SUV, Estate etc

Like Thead I would for an all rounder go for an Audi but the A6 Allroad Quattro

    Classic
Toughy this one, but weeding out the pre 60s classics from Ferrari and Alfa, I went for the American classic of the 1965 AC Shelby Cobra 427

    http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/6898/65cobra4275du.jpg

but overall it would goto the Mclaren F1, which was not just a pure race car, with stunning looks that wouldnt be out of place today as well as winning LeMans, but could easily be used on the road.

Back in my teen years, there was a magazine called Sports Car Graph here in the states….they were showing a new six wheel sports car, it was being built in the UK. The car was a convertible only, no top….it used US power, with a V-8 from one of the GM cars, twin turbos….lots of power….because it came only as a convertible, and came with AC, it has a large open area to cool…the four wheels in front…were to help with braking, and hydroplaning steering, the idea being the front wheel would squeegee the water off the road, and the 2nd set of wheels could steer the car….the car was said to achieve plus 200 MPH

    Family: http://www.blue-bird.com/products/coach/450lxi.php
we didn’t have one, but it could move my family around quite nicely

For Classic: In 1971 I was in high school, my girlfriend’s father had a 1953 TR-3, and had a TR-5 S6 OHV engine in it….he was rebuilding it over the summer, and when ever it was between shops, and at home, he let me drive it, about two months altogether….it was a nice change from my 1959 Ford pickup

Gotta go with 2 of my cars for supercar and family, though the payments are killing me, its like a dream come true.

    Supercar
2001 Dodge Viper, only a handful made in dark blue. Ill have to take some pics, the wing is being installed on it now.

    Family
06 Hummer H3. Park where you want. Because you can. Most fun vehicle I have driven in some time. Often, I prefer to drive this over anything.

    Classic
1970 Dodge Daytona. Silly looking wing, yet so cool, made 250 of them. Current value is 250k+ if you can find one. Never afford that :(

Edit found a pic from the dealer before I got it. I would rather have kept it private, but since we have a couple Viper fans, I wanted to share it with them. Hope you like it.

And the cadillac sixteen,16 cylinder,13.6 litre 1000bhp monster prototype, the engine hasnt even been tuned yet,the engine auto shutsdown some cylinders depending how hard you press the accelerator, should be going into production soon, maybe
journalists have only been able to drive it at 40mph so far

Super car - not sure - not much of a muscle car fan. I do like the 1956 corvette, but that's more of a classic, I guess.

Family Car - Ford Sportrac Pickup with crewcab - very comfortable, lots luggage space, all the bells and whistles. Great on long trips ( except for the MPG !)

Classic - my personal favorite of all time: Olds Cutlass 442, 1968 model with the "Coke bottle body"; one of the first electronic ignitions , and could really move. My first car. Wish I still had it.:( . Bought it used for $1000 dollars in 1978 - all chrome under the hood, no body damage, nice Coca cola brown color. Big back seat. Ask my wife.:D

    I never said there was...

His response to my ultimate car is posting a video of it being beaten by another (that is in an entirely different class of cars, to be honest). So can I not respond by asking how my opinion of "ultimate car" is proven false by showing me a video of it being slower? sheesh

I guess the appropriate response would be
"OMG)OMG LOOK HeRes a vid of a BugatTi VeYron it's like ZOMGZ sO mUch FASTARRRR so YouR Car's Not THE ulTimate EITHer!"

I love the look of the big American cars, especially the Viper but....

My supercar would have to be the Veyron, I've loved the McClaren F1 since I was little, but the Veyron! *dribble*

http://www.bugatti-cars.de/bugatti/index.html - Look at the configurator on the top left after clicking English (or your language!)

A car that needs an air brake, 0-60mph in 2.3 seconds, 250mph-0 in 10 seconds!

Once I've made my millions, this would be the weekend car!

Everyday driving would be a BMW M5 and my classic would have to be a Ford Capri Brooklands.

Thinking about it, i need to make my millions and then win the lottery two weeks in a row!!
