Ultimate Defrag is an app that's a new here at MG, and I'm always on the hunt for free defraggers. So I downloaded it, installed it, and fired it up. Now what? I tried to launch it using several different set ups or configurations. I never got it to do anything except it said "Preparing...." and just sat there. The HD light wasn't flashing, no drive access, nothing. So I tried to cancel/stop the defrag. "Preparing...." switched to "Stopping...." and again it just there. I ended up having to use the task manager to end it. Now, I'm far from a noob but this has me stymied. I can't seem to get it to run with WinXP. Sometimes I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandelier and I tend to overlook the obvious sometimes, and I think that's what is going on here..... something is right in front of me and I just can't see it.....

    Thanks.

If you really want to keep the program?

Looks like there should be a log or you can make it generate one, see Program Operation Issues in FAQ

"termination will generate a file called UDefrag.rpt in the folder where UltimateDefrag is installed"
Or you might be able to create this file: C:\ _Defrag.log.
