I was looking through an old(redundant) HS yearbook today, and reflected on my old classmates that had passed on. While I miss all of them, one that struck me close to my heart and set me aback for a bit was a man named Paul McMaster. You see, I remember Paul as a friendly sort that had nothing bad to say about anyone. He was a steady of a cousin, Bernadette,(Abby knew these folks too)and they were what may be called a perfect couple. Well, one thing I remember vividly from HS is that Paul was a VERY poor swimmer, even though he tried his best. Paul moved to Florida right after our graduating year...and spent a ton of time on the beach. One day there was a rip tide, and Paul went out after a child that was in trouble, being swept out to sea. To make a long story short, the child was saved, and Paul wasn`t. There must have been 500 or more people at his memorial...he was very popular. The thing is...he knew he couldn`t swim for s**t, and didn`t care. He had a huge heart, and made the ultimate sacrifice. It`s sad, but the world needs more people like my deceased friend Paul. If there is a "God", please take care of OUR friend. I miss you Paul...even after 23 years.

The world would be a MUCH better place if more people would just stop thinking about themselves for just a couple minutes!!

Too bad there isn't MORE people that do the whole "pay it forward" thingy!!

Bitter sweet story m8:( ,I have aspired all my life to be 'a Paul' ,recently the local DVD clerke 'a teenage girl' was robbed at knifepoint, theres a restaurant accross the road with a clear view of what happened, not only would they not speak to the police about the people they saw there but they wouldnt let the police on the premises without a warrant:rolleyes: I wont be eating there again

To cut a long story short the police are taking me to the station tommorrow hopefully I can pick the guy out of mugshot book,if I pick the same guy as the clerke I may make a difference :)

Sasq, memories of people we have come across in our lifes, who act in a selfless way are, yes very heart warming, a selfless act saved a life and in posting both his name and story, you have entered into the achives of the internet for prosperity.

You are correct the world needs many more people who will just help out of kindness and selflessness.

    Yeah well done Rikky... :)

Pretty much sums up why I'm trying to become a police officer.
Light up a candle for Paul for me.
