I have an old book keeping program called UltraPoint XP. I need to look up some info on it and had to format the hard drive of my computer. I have a data back up but realized after downloading the data backup I havent got a key. The trial period ends in three days. Has any one ever heard of them or know what I can do? I have googled to try to find them but they must have been out of business too long.:cry:cry

Most programs give some information somewhere with an About option.

In the program check the "Help" tab and look for "About". See if you have the exact name of the program and if there is any information like Programmer or Website that we can google and maybe find some archived information. Check the copyright dates so we know when your version was written/distributed.

After a more thorough search I was able to locate information which put me in touch with Jerry Cibley from Aloha Data Systems. Ken Farley the original author now manufactures a POS program called StoreTender. He was kind enough on a Saturdey afternoon to Call Ken and ask him to help me out. They contacted me and resolved my issue within a half hour and did not ask for a penny. Pretty amazing service I would say! Thank you to them and all who replied!:):):)

That is wonderful news! It is nice to hear that a software developer appreciates his customers and is willing to help even when the project is no longer being developed. Good job Ken! And nice detective work Rod!

    Thanks for posting back. :)

I realize this thread is pretty old...
Rod, do you still use UltraPoint or have you replaced it? I have a friend who is still using it and is looking to upgrade to a newer program and is looking for something that will import the UltraPoint data.

Rod probably will not see your question, lfg. He hasn't been here since May 2011.

Plodr is right of course but Rod can be PM'd. Worth a try.
