Um sparks anyone?

About an hour ago I found that somehow a peripheral IDE cable was hanging out of my side panel...Ok so I open the panel and just easliy scoot it back as cafrefully as possible...Well i guess I wasn't as careful as I though somehow it sparked very briefly on the LED lights for the HDD or it could have been the HDD it's self it was hard to tell.

So the system shut off, I pulled the power cable from the PC and every other connector and let it sit for a bit I looked around and gave a quick sniff to see if anything smelled like it fried.

No smell, the connector is a tad black on the inside...I hooked it back up and gave it a try, It booted right up no errors or anything no weird smells....It runs fine.

Think it'll be ok? not really sure what happend I grounded myself before I touched that cable. I didn't get shocked...though I barely touched it.

This isn't my month I tell you.

 

if everything is working fine, i wouldnt worry about it. Just remember, make sure you unplug the computer and ground yourself before messing with any components next time

Yeah I know now, lol I didn't think it would be much of a difference if I just pushed it back into the case, I was in the middle of updating a couple things and I couldn't shut it off.

Sure as heck scared me though I tell you lol.
