Unabe To Format Hp X705w Drive

I have HP x705W pen drive.
I was always getting errors, if I copied anything, it would not store,
Finally i formatted the drive, and now it shows the drive as Raw

Diskpart shows the No media and 0 byted

I tried using HP format too, but it says drive is protected.

 

You need to tell us two things:

1. What is the exact Operating System you are having this problem with, eg Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 or 10

2. Have you tried this USB pen drive on any other system where it is detected correctly?

My computer is having Windows 7 ultimate, I also tried it on laptop which is windows 7 professional
The drive gets detected and the windows notification that the drive is not formated keeps popping up (30 pop ups a minute)

In both the drive gets detected, I can see the drive in Disk Management ( in Computer Management within control panel) but then Disk management just freezes.

 

I think the HP support forum says it all. If you can't get it to work on any system it is corrupted. If it is still within warranty you might get your money back.

The problem is solved, What I did was go here

Seems PNY does provide the support and not HP, there I went to the download Tab and downloaded
USB Flash Driver Format Tool (Ufix-II) http://www.pny.com.tw/images/icon_save.gif
For all capacities,

It is a zip file and it has the exe file in it, it conducted a low level format and I got my disk back

If anyone has the problem do ask them to go the site and get the required help

Unfortunately HP was not much help other than the excellent support that they have but which was useless in my case
