Unable To Access Almost Anything

    First, I thought I had some malware and went through the Malware forum and I was referred to this forum.
    I'm not sure what you need to evaluate my software situation. If I had a guess, I have an antivirus software lurking below my radar that's conflicting with my main antivirus or some setting that is taking my safety too seriously, as in not allowing me to access anything.
    I'm getting errors such as "Site taking too long to respond," "Not connected to the internet" (but I am), "DNS error," "Error, connection timed out," DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET" Need I go on? Some programs won't load at all, just sit there and have the twirly thing go forever. I have manually added sites to have access through the firewall, but it doesn't seem to help.
    I have found that my computer wants to pick the same IP addy as my son's computer which has a static addy. I disconnect from the network and reconnect when this happens.
    What do you need to evaluate this? Remember, it took me forever to get here and it seems to be taking longer and longer. It is even taking a long time to post this!

    You could try uninstalling Sentinel Runtime to solve the above. And - have you tried using your browser with no add-ons active? Could Avira Browser Safety be too much with Avast Internet Security installed?

    EDIT: Also - why is this service running when SUPERAntiSpyware isn't listed as installed?

    Sounds like an IP addy conflict that is causing your connection issues.

    I guess you have a couple of options you could take.
    Does your son need the static IP for gaming or other?
    The easiest way would be to convert him back to DHCP and let the router assign his IP's or, if he wants to keep it, enter your routers configuration page in your browser, and exclude his static IP from the DHCP IP address range in the network tab/page.

    dr.moriarty, Thank you for your suggestions, but I want the Sentinel Runtime to work--the HASP key is necessary for some of my programs to run. They are non-gaming programs. As for the Avira Browser Safety, I can't uninstall it! I've tried numerous times and it gives me a version error and leaves the program. I have no idea why the SAS is not showing as running unless I turned it off per instructions to run some of the scans.

    Replicator, I will do that for my IP addy. I hadn't thought to do that.

    Tim W., no I have not tried a system restore. Up until posting this, I had not considered the issue being anything other than a malware.

    Responding to your points:
    1. You have not identified which programs are not working... any that the HASP key & Sentinel Runtime are supposed to control?
    2. Have you tried using Revo Uninstaller or GeekUninstaller for Avira Browser Safety removal?
    3. I asked about SAS because it doesn't show as being an installed program.
    4. Trying a system restore is normal trouble-shooting, to hopefully restore to a time before problems began.
    5. TimW found your system malware-free two weeks ago.

    1. The HASP key is for the Premium Embroidery suite.
    2. I will try the installer programs you suggest. (Note, I just got my internet working again)
    3. I don't know why SAS isn't showing, it's there... upload_2018-4-5_22-14-27.png (Snip from my screen when I call it up.)
    4. I tried a system restore, but my settings are not right and the only restore point was useless. It didn't restore successfully.
    5. Yes, I appear to be malware free., but why am I having these problems??

    I used the geek uninstaller and had to force the uninstall, was still getting the OS Incompatibility. Have to wonder about a program that has 320 associated registry items. I got it done with the geek.

    Here is where I stand: I was able to uninstall the Avira Browser Safety. I am not able to run my Premier Embroidery software. I get the error, "Unable to access Sentinel Run-Time Environment (H0033). I will go to the website tomorrow to see what I have to do. The software is very guarded. If I delete the wrong thing and restore it, I will render it useless. I have used my only installation of the dongle and it will be toast if I try to uninstall/reinstall. Too expensive for that. I also need to fix my system restore settings. I only have it set for enough HDD to store 1 point. I'll fix that tomorrow too.

    If you have any other suggestions, I'm open. Most of my shortcuts are not working still. I will see if remaking them will work. But like Scarlet, tomorrow is another day...
