Unable to boot WIN98 plaese help

Well my problem is that I had a dual boot, with my Win98 on the C: partition, and the XP on my logical D drive. I decided to remove the XP, so i stupidly deleted its core files, like ntldr, boot.ini, bootsect.dos ect ect..
Than of course I wasnt able to log into WIN98 either, it said missing ntldr, so i tried to replace it from the winxp CD, than it asked for hal.dll ntdect.com and I dont remember exactly what else..
I was forced to reinstall completly WIN XP on the D drive, but when I try to load WIN98 at the menu it shows: "Load needed DLLS for Kernel..." and now im really frustrated, because the OS is there on the C drive, I just dont know how to make it accesible, and I really need that WIN 98 system, because I can access the drive itself from XP, but I need the system itself.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

You just want to boot 98, right?

Boot to a 98 startup disk, or CD, if its bootable. Then at the DOS prompt, type:

sys c:

It should say system transferred.

Reboot and see what happens.

Try reloading windows 98 from the cd when you get to the recovery screen press reinstall windows then there is an option to repair files .Hope this helps

I've never seen that screen in 98 setup.
