unable to download from Web.

ok so i looked at othe unable to download topics they arent my problem, Heres the problem im having, i cannot download files, applications or doc/pdfs. the only thing i can download is pictures and if im lucky a video clip under 10meg (15 seconds?) anyhow for the boring info that might help: Iam running vista home premium, Iam an avvid Bit Torrent Leecher and i have been downloading mostly through torrents but some stuff isnt availible on torrent so i was going to just do it the old fashioned way. Iam using FireFox and i get a few meg of a 20meg file like usually 5 or 6 only and it says Done. obviously something needs to be altered any assistance would be fantastic. thanks guys.

Downloading Torrents can be risky, I would first do a complete scan. Some malware will block a lot of downloads. My concern is you obviously have internet, just nothing is downloading. It is an odd issue, as you have discovered, so lets try the basics:
