unable to download macafee

I recently had to reload macafee, which I have through comcast. My original problem was that when I got to the part where it was supposed to download all I got was a blank page. I also got a blank page when I tried to update windows. I found this (http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/IERegFix.bat) in the forums, which stopped the blank page. But, now It goes through the whole process of downloading but won't it won't finalize. All I get is x's. I have windows xp home edition with service pack 3. Thank you

 

if you did not completely uninstall the previous version first ,then remove it before you install a fresh copy,use this Macaffe removal tool http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe to remove the old program,then reboot,then run Ccleaner(windows,Apps,registry) to clean the old registry entry's http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds/downloading-slim then try to install it again
