    Hello,
A few days ago I tried to log on to my account but was unable to. I would type in my password and click enter. It seemed to be working at first. I saw my desktop but with no shortcuts or anything just the picture then all of a sudden it said " Loging out , Saving Settings ect." and it took me back to the log on window. I tried to log on to other accounts but the same thing happened. I found something on the microsoft support website but it is not working. The page I refered to was:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892893/en-us
I got as far as copying the two files but then it still wouldn't let me log on.
If anyone knows how to solve this problem I would appreciate your help.
    THANKS!

First thing I'd try is to restart and get into safe mode. See if that will work. Then repost and let us know what all you've got ....

I tried signing in during safe mode but the same thing happened. I tried to sign in on all the accounts and none of them worked.

Some one else may have a better suggestion, but at that point, I would reboot with my setup disc in the cd drive and do a repair installation. If you can't get into the os as it is, you really can't do anything to try to fix it. Do you know how to do a repair install?

Ummm......no I don't. What would a repair install do? Like replace all important files.....would I loose any of my pictures or documents?

Assuming you are using xp .... when you boot up with the disc in the cd drive, you will be asked if you want to boot from cd .... yes! It will go through the set up and after it asks you to agree (f8), then it will look for previously installed os. When it finds one (xp) it will ask if you want to do a repair (R) or a new install. Press R .... then it will go through the entire installation and will look lilke its doing a complete install.... which it is, except that its the system thats being installed while it keeps all of your previous files and most settings (it will wipe out all of your updates).
Anyone else have a suggestion, before drunk_donkey does the repair?

No problem ...it's why we're all hear ..to help each other out. But you're not done yet. Go to the malware section and follow the "read this first" and do everything to make sure you're not infected with crap ... probably don't have to do the hijack this, yet. But do the rest and post back.

I am very well protected against malware and viruses and i don't believe it was malware that caused the problem. However when I ran a spyware docotor scan it came up with something called "BlazeFind". It said it was a trojan. I remember the name of the item from the microsoft website that i first visited.

It said the name of the file I believe was "wsaupdater.exe". I had ran a spyware docotor scan before the problem occured and "BlazeFind" didn't show up but now all of a sudden it says its a problem.
I will do what it says on the microsoft website about changing the registry value then deleting it and see if that works.
    Thanks again.
