Unable to login to windows

Hopefully one of you fine people will be able to help!

After some over zealous use of nCleaner the other night (deleted some files - not sure exactly what) I'm now unable to get past the password screen when I switch on my Windows XP SP2 (could even be SP3) equipped Dell.

After entering the password, I get a couple of messages:

Hi

When you first turn on your computer, right after your computer maker's splash screen, but before the Windows Boot Screen, press F8, and select Safe Mode. In safe mode, there should be two accounts - yours and one called Administrator. See if you can log into the administrator account. This will tell us if it is a problem with your profile, or the computer itself(system files).

I seem to be able to log in to the administrator account ok. Any ideas what I should be doing next?

 

From there, can you perform a system restore to a date before the problem?
